Mode vs. Fashion

In the aftermath of New York’s most coveted red carpet, and to make peace with what is, or what we would like to be, fashion, we bring here two blockbuster exhibitions, one in Paris and another in the New York museum where happens the Met Gala itself.
In Paris is proposed a journey through time (in 3 centuries) and through the Les Arts Décoratifs’ fashion collection, which contains an Arts de la Mode section, founded 30 years ago under Pierre Bergé’s initiative with the French textile industry and the then Minister of Culture Jack Lang support.
The New Yorkers at the Met propose the confrontation between the manual labor and technology, overturning prejudices on one and the other. In both situations there are extraordinary models of haute couture or top ready to wear, on a scenario by Rem Koolhaas’ OMA.
Two trips for this year’s spring, while we don’t know what the summer of the arts will bring.
