Rams em Londres

É um dos nomes vivos a quem se deve a ideia-cliché do rigor alemão.
Um rigor modernista que se tornou na primeira verdadeira linguagem do design e que Dieter Rams (n. 1932) nunca abandonou.
É sinónimo de Braun, mas para nós também de Vitsoe.
Tem sido objecto de múltiplas exposições (por cá em 2001 no CCB aconteceu a Dieter Rams Haus, numa co-produção Experimenta Design / Centro Cultural de Belém – Museu do Design) e agora é a vez de uma retrospectiva no Design Museum de Londres: Less and More – The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams.
Deyan Sudjic: This is as modern now as it was when you made it.
Dieter Rams: I think so, because it is timeless. Not as much as design as possible on it. Few design on it, and that make it timeless.
DS: It’s impossible to say when it was made.
DR: Yeah, that makes things timeless.
DS: What is the secret of this design?
DR: Maybe the secret is: less but better.
